Vampyr is getting a behind-the-scenes web series that will run ahead of launch

Get to know who you'll be playing.

Life is Strange developer Dontnod is hard at work on the upcoming narratively-driven Action-RPG Vampyr, where players step into the role of doctor-turned-vampire, Jonathan Reid who wages a constant war with himself over balancing when to feed and when to restrain his desire for blood. The game had recently been delayed from its November 2017 release window, but it looks like the studio is beginning to prep its advertising campaign ahead of launch.

Dontnod revealed today that they would be publishing a four-part behind-the-scenes web series that will delve into the studio’s creative process and show off some never-before-seen gameplay. A teaser trailer of what’s to come was released, which you can check out below.

Each episode will run about five minutes in length, and the first one, titled Making Monsters, will release on January 18th. Making Monsters will focus on the game’s protagonist, talking about why the studio is pushing the idea of a “conflicted predator” in its narrative and how it ties into the concept of player freedom regarding gameplay.

Here’s a breakdown of all four episodes:

  1. Episode I: Making Monsters
  2. Episode II: Architects of the Obscure
  3. Episode III: Human After All
  4. Episode IV: Stories From the Dark

Vampyr will change depending on who the player decides to sacrifice, so no two playthroughs will be entirely the same.

There is currently no release date set for Vampyr, but it is intended to launch sometime this Spring for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
