Velocity Ultra shoots from Vita onto PS3

The PlayStation Vita game Velocity Ultra, a remake of the PlayStation Mini Velocity, is coming to the PlayStation 3 this year, announced Curve Studios and developer FuturLab today.

Velocity Ultra is a vertical shooter meets puzzle/teleportation game. The PS3 version will run in HD and retain the features found in the Vita version, like the cartoonish style — an improvement on the original pixel art. It will share Trophies and leaderboards with the Vita version.

“I’m genuinely proud of what we achieved with Velocity Ultra,” said James Marsden, the managing director of FuturLab. “We poured our creative heart and soul into this game, and it’s fantastic to be working with Curve to bring the game to more players.”

Curve Studios has handled a number of ports, including Lone Survivor and Thomas Was Alone.
