Well, they say acting does take a lot of your time and energy, so really it just seems like he’s saying what every actor is thinking when they’ve finally finished their work.

It was announced back in May 2017 that Hardy would be starring in the Spider-Man spin-off Venom playing Eddie Brock. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Kelly Marcel. Hardy had previously noted that the Venom movie was inspired by the Venom: Lethal Protector miniseries and that he’d bring justice to the role, along with a dark humor.

The miniseries, and supposedly the film, follows Venom as he and Spider-Man call a truce and Venom leaves New York. But, he’s later attacked and has his symbiote experimented on, which creates five new symbiote spawn: Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony. As Venom is not yet an established villain in the new Spider-Man universe, the story may not play out the exact same, but still, retain the overall action points. Tom Holland is rumored to make an appearance as Spider-Man as well.

Michelle Williams plays Anne Weying in the film, who later becomes She-Venom in the comics, so it’s entirely possible we may see her become infected by the symbiote as well.

Venom is scheduled for release on October 5, 2018.
