Filmmaker Uwe Boll, best known for his film adaptations of video games like Bloodrayne, Rampage, In the Name of the King and more, tells those that did not crowdfund his film adaptation of Rampage 3 "f**k you." Now this is not Boll's first attempt at crowdfunding the film, making it the third time he's failed at funding that film.
His anger can be understood, but lashing out at the community for not supporting is not right.
The video starts off with Boll recounting his failed attempts for film adaptations of video games on crowd funding sites saying, "That was my third campaign after Postal 2 failed, after IndieGoGo for Rampage 3 failed and now Kickstarter failed, too. Basically my message is, 'F**k yourself."
A fitting opening statement for a video titled "f**k you all."
Boll claims that Kickstarter contacted him to launch a campaign for Rampage 3, in order for them to receive 10% of whatever amount the campaign holders collect. He went on to say that after these experiences Boll would not be turning to the crowdfunding community for support. "It's all f**king bullsh**, and I will never do it in my life again," says Boll. "For me, crowdfunding is absolutely dead. Goodbye. End. It looks like nobody gives a sh** about Rampage 3, so maybe I shouldn't do it, then."
"I have enough money to play golf 'till I'm dead."
The indignant director went on to say that he wanted to make Rampage 3, because "it is an important movie," and that "Marvel's Avengers bullsh*t dirt" films are the only type of films that get funded (along with movies about a "wizard in a forest").
Boll was not done with his "f**k you all" video, he went on to bring down Hollywood's heavy-hitters like George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for their selfish charity work in a following video. According to Boll "they are lying, cheating, stealing" and only doing charity work when it benefits themselves (it's possible, who knows – I'm skeptical of most charities these days). The Hollywood actors are "all about the f**king money" and the young people of today are "falling in the f**king trap because they're all stupid."
The second tirade on Hollywood is much, much more acceptable than the first video — but that J.LO comment was unnecessary.
It should be noted that he ends the video with a statement that says, we need to "kill the rich." In his first video he says he has enough money to play golf until he's dead — which makes him rich. I'm sure he isn't including himself in that statement which makes him a bit hypocritical, don't ya say?
