Video Games: The Movie documents the digital history come July

More than likely, if you’re reading this than you are some form of gamer. You’ve spent multiple hours trying to beat just ‘one more level’ or have almost figured out the trick to the final boss before. We’re been there. Your history of conquests stretches across a digital boundary unique to only you. Why not share in the history of the video games you love so much?

Starting July 18th in the United States and Canada, you can watch Video Games: The Movie in select theaters. The documentary is also coming out earlier on digital platforms (such as iTunes) July 15th. Executive producer Zach Braff and director Jeremy Snead have created this film to chronicle the meteoric rise of video games from nich to industry.

"Games are a part of the human experience and permeate our culture now more than ever before,” said director Jeremy Snead. “I'm thrilled that my film will expose the world to a never-before-told story of the men and women who built this industry as well as what it has become and what it will continue to evolve into, and I’m thrilled to be partnering with Variance to bring it out to the world."

Check out the trailer above and get pumped for a documentary of our past.
