One last right? More like "one last trilogy," because Vin Diesel has revealed plans for at least three more Fast & Furious films before finally ending the popular movie franchise.
“Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision… they have been like family,” Diesel wrote in a Facebook post over the weekend. “I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.”
Diesel's post comes just days after The Hollywood Reporter's news on the difficult process of bringing Fast & Furious 8 to the big screen, particularly claiming Diesel "must be consulted on director choices." And though Diesel didn't directly reference the THR piece in his post, he did allude to the trouble of finding the right director for the job.
"My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled," he wrote. "To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet… let alone seen a script."
Diesel concluded with one final teaser for fans: "I will announce the directors on my next post…"
Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
