Vladimir Lenin’s statue transformed into Darth Vader

Proving once again that Star Wars is universal, artist Aleksander Milov was tapped to transform a Ukrainian memorial statue of Vladimir Lenin into the dark lord himself, Darth Vader.

Following the passing of a law that bans communist legacy, the statue underwent a transformation that included modifying the helmet into Vader’s iconic visage and his coat into his sweeping cape. The helmet was also retrofitted with a wi-fi hotspot for locals to take advantage of.

The made-over statue was unveiled this weekend in Odessa to fanfare that included a costumed Vader presenting, the Imperial March being played and, of course, Stormtroopers. Now if only someone would do something similar to that creepy Daniel Edwards Britney Spears statue.
