Voice actor claims Hideo Kojima was fired, Konami refutes statement

Get your popcorn ready!

Since the middle of March we have been following a series of events that all started with Konami removing Hideo Kojima's name from the products that he helped create for them. Konami never admitted to what lead to the division between themselves and Kojima, but they did say that they would continue to develop his games, even if he isn't around.

Fast forward to a couple of days ago, and you will see that Konami put Kojima's name back onto some products. All of this occurred without a statement from Konami or Kojima.

What happened at Konami? Did Kojima back out or did Konami kick him out? According to voice actress Donna Burke, it is the latter.

Burke is the voice of iDroid in the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes game, so she does have a tie to both Konami and Kojima. Here's the conversation that Donna Burke held with a Twitter user, the conversation that revealed what she believes to be true:

After the media got their hands on the info and began prodding Konami for information, a representative from Konami stepped forward and called the statements from Burke "categorically incorrect."

Categorically incorrect means without exceptions or conditions; absolute; unqualified and unconditional. Konami is downright refuting this claim.

What is the truth behind the whole scandal? We have yet to know — perhaps Kojima signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement that denies him the right to speak on the subject, who knows. All I know is that there is enough drama in this situation that we could make a film out of it, kind of like the GTA one.
