Volume is the next game from Thomas Was Alone developer

Today Thomas Was Alone developer Mike Bithell announced his next title — a "medieval-inspired cyberpunk" stealth game called Volume.

Bithell's site is a bit broke at the moment due to traffic, but the developer has posted an announcement trailer and gameplay demonstration on YouTube. The game involves no combat and is rather all about stealing while avoiding detection. Players use noise to distract enemies, and they can create and share their own missions, too.

Volume takes inspiration from Metal Gear Solid's VR Missions, but the stealth elements here are much faster in pace, with players able to complete levels in two or three minutes.

The game will also feature a full campaign (200-plus levels) with voice-acting and a story. All of it is open to player redesign.

Volume is due out in 2014. Bithell has yet to announce platforms.
