Well, that certainly took longer than expected, huh?
Microsoft and the creator of original Xbox game Voodoo Vince announced today that the game will be remastered for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. Initially developed by Beep industries and published by Microsoft, the game will continue to be a Microsoft only title. The game's developer Clayton Kauzlaric spoke about the remaster and how it came to be
"I'm super excited to bring Voodoo Vince back. Backward compatibility was never possible due to the nature of our game engine, but the ID@Xbox program got me thinking about publishing an HD remastered version independently, with much of the game rewritten from the ground up to run on newer hardware. The folks at Microsoft have been amazingly supportive of the idea."
Voodoo Vince is a platforming title that made waves in 2003 with its new style of gameplay and incredible sound track. Graveyards, swamps and other areas will see Vince jumping through hoops in over 30 levels. Achievements, Xbox Live integration and of course full HD 1080P and 60 FPS gameplay will be included. No release date yet, but the game is set to release in 2017 on both Xbox One and Windows 10.
