First, Christopher Nolan said he's not going to work on the Justice League film. Then there were the rumors of Ben Affleck possibly directing the movie, which I refused to report because I was against the idea of Affleck (while having some directing success) being in charge of such a big project. The dude thought Gigli was a good idea for crying out loud. Regardless, he is much better suited for the projects he is having success with than a superhero team-up movie.
So the search for a director goes on. The next names being mentioned have experience with big movies with a lot of hype. Lana and Andy Wachowski are under consideration for Justice League. According to Moviehole.net, Warner Bros. is enamored with the Wachowski movie Cloud Atlas, with the characters, bells and whistles and the huge ensemble of actors.
In addition to the upcoming Cloud Atlas, starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and a ton of other big names, The Wachowskis are known for The Matrix trilogy and… Speed Racer, I guess. There's no word from the directing duo as to whether they're interesting in the Justice League.
As of now, Justice League is being eyed for a 2015 release and is being written by Will Beale, who wrote Gangster Squad.
