In 2011, one brave live-streamer named Leomon began playing Pokemon Ruby with a shiny Magikarp. Nearly six years later, the trainer has finally become a champion with this lone shiny carp. That's right: Pokemon Master… with just a shiny Magikarp.
After the stream, Leomon stated on Twitter that it didn't matter if you had a strong or weak Pokemon. Really skilled trainers that try their best will prevail with the Pokemon they like.
His video, originally streamed on the site NicoNico, has been brought to YouTube with the last 30 minutes on May 5.
His victory with a simple fish inspired many other Twitter users to send congratulations and fan art from those following his epic 5-year quest. Here are a few (Personally, we love the name Koi King):
