When it comes to Final Fantasy XV, we’ve seen gameplay consisting of a road trip, busty gas attendants, strange buddy systems, crying women, and near Jurassic Park experiences. All of this footage has been broken up across multiple trailers. All the sudden the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, drops this darling 40+ minutes of straight gameplay video right onto our laps. I mean if he’s going to offer it, you know we’re going to watch it.
Even if you don’t understand Japanese, there is a lot to observe from this gameplay. If you DO understand Japanese – I’m jealous. In this footage, you’ll get solid glimpses of the battle system, open world glory, day/night cycles, the map, and general gameplay. I took notice of some of the spell effects – especially the swords the main character summons that sort of act on their own. Very cool stuff.
This will most likely be the demo that is being double bagged with the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Check it out. Feel free to watch the entirety of the video but I’d start at 35 minutes in, that’s where the gameplay begins. Enjoy!
