Wargaming opens new doors in Austin

The World of Tanks developer opened a studio in Austin, Texas today.

Wargaming is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Its new Austin location will serve as home for its producing center, central technology, and global business intelligence groups. The company employs more than 2,000 people around the world, and this studio will be responsible for facilitating communication between all branches.

The company is the new owner of former Atari properties Master of Orion and Total Annihilation series.

"Although it's too soon to disclose any details, we are more than willing to give a new lease of life to these games most of us grew up playing," said Wargaming chief executive officer Victor Kislyi. "It's exactly where our major focus will be."

In May, Wargaming established a studio in Tokyo — its 15th office.
