Wargaming unveils World of Tanks Blitz, a free-to-play mobile game

Wargaming, the leading free-to-play developer and publisher with games like World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, revealed their new game at GDC this week: World of Tanks Blitz. Staying true to the company's goal to "reinforce expansion onto new platforms," Blitz is a mobile version of the developer's free-to-play World of Tanks MMO on PC.

Built for tablets and smartphones (iOS and Android), World of Tanks Blitz will put a "mobile twist" ont he traditional dynamic tank combat. It supports online 7v7 PvP battles with more than 80 tanks from tons of nations to select from.

"The game derives its best traits from the original World of Tanks title," Wargaming boasts on their site, "introducing an impressive park of vehicles from several tankbuilding superpowers that include well-rounded medium tanks, powerful heavy tanks, and intimidating tank destroyers. Each class has a set of multiple features, giving unique playing style to every model."

"With its simple and handy controls, World of Tanks Blitz lets you control supermassive machines only with your thumbs and helps focus on the combat, while deep game mechanics allow for well-paced gameplay and tactical diversity."

Wargaming has not yet announced a release date for World of Tanks Blitz, but we'll be sure to keep you updated with all of the latest news.
