Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III open beta announced ahead of launch

He who stands with me shall be my brother

The long awaited release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III is less than a month away and to give players a taste of what's to come, and to try out their servers and test faction balance, Relic Entertainment announced that they will host an open beta before launch.

It has been more than eight years since the release of Dawn of War II and fans have waited patiently for the return of the Blood Ravens chapter. The wait will temporarily come to an end during the open beta which will be hosted on Friday, April 21st, through Monday, April 24th, both starting and ending at 10 AM PST, click here to find out what that means for your time zone.

The beta in question will be a multiplayer beta with all three factions, Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar, as well as their units and a selection of elite heroes, allowing players to mix and match to find the unit – hero combination they enjoy the most.

"Players will have access to all three of the game’s factions – Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks – and a selection of powerful elite heroes for each, allowing them to experiment with different playstyles and strategies."

Those who already pre-ordered Dawn of War III before the beta will also get the opportunity to show off their exclusive skins for the first time, allowing them to distract their enemy with their fanciness.

As of now, there has been no word on what maps players can expect to duke it out on and if players will get any more hints towards the fourth "elusive" race.

Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War III, by the Emperor's will, is set for launch April 27th.
