Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic goes gold for GOG and Steam

InXile Entertainment's rerelease of the original Wasteland has gone gold and is undergoing platform approval at GOG and Steam, according to an update on the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter.

The developer has made a few adjustments to the post-apocalyptic computer role-playing game, which debuted in 1988 and features turn-based combat and top-down exploration. InXile has upgraded Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic to run on modern PCs (including Mac and Linux systems) and higher resolutions. It also added in a music track from Wasteland 2 composer Mark Morgan, texts from the manual and paragraph book, and more save functionality.

Also available are optional overhauls to the enemy portraits; a choice of upscaled, smoothed, or original resolution; and paragraph voiceover.

Backers of the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter will get a copy for free.
