PAX South wrapped up yesterday afternoon and in its wake was some very exciting news. InXile Entertainment, the studio that bought us Wasteland 2, is resurrecting The Bard's Tale IV.
During PAX South the project lead for Wasteland 2 hinted at working on 'another RPG that has been passionately demanded' of the developers for 'a while now.'
InXile Entertainment boss Brian Fargo officially announced the game on Twitter.
It's official.. And I'm very personally excited to be working on this. More details to follow. pic.twitter.com/OegeiAU28B

The Bard's Tale IV will bring up back to the town of Skara Brae, it will feature a different take on turn-based combat where both opposing teams attack at the same time as opposed to alternating attacks.
In an interview with IGN, Fargo noted that the game will have the complexity and depth that is seen in some of the top games from today. "There will be plenty of combat diversity and depth," Fargo said. "You look at something like Hearthstone, for example. It's sort of that going back-and-forth process, and you see the complexity and detail and strategy and nuance that can happen. It's really an amazing system. I love those modern influences. I took a lot away from that, and see things we need to do with our combat system."
Fargo later Tweeted that it would be 'kind of cool' to allow people to bring over saves from previous Bard's Tale games to The Bard's Tale IV.
