Wasteland 2 passes $2 million on Kickstarter

In a previous article we cited that Obsidian had reached a tentative agreement to co-develop Wasteland 2 with inXile entertainment. The agreement condition was that if the Wasteland 2 project could reach $2.1 million on Kickstarter, then an Obsidian developement team led by Chris Avellone would co-develope.

Well, the Wasteland 2 project has raised over $2 million on Kickstarter which puts the agreement with Obsidian well within reach. This won't be Brian Fargo's first time working with Chris Avellone of Obsidian, the two have collaborated before in Fallout 1 and 2 and Planescape: Torment while working for Black Isle Studios. An inXile spokesperson relayed the excitement to have Chris Avellon on the project to Develop, "The full nature of the collaboration is still a little un defined, but as long as Avellone is working with us, we are very happy!"

If you would like to help, visit the game's Kickstarter page.  For those who live in countries where donating thorugh the Kickstarter/Amazon pay system is not possible, Fargo has set up a new Paypal account for pledges to go directly through the Wasteland web portal.
