Wasteland 2 shipping at the end of August

InXile Entertainment's post-apocalyptic turn-based game, Wasteland 2, will be release at the end of August. Celebrating the announcement, inXile has made available the entire Arizona portion of the game via the Wasteland 2 early access beta on Steam.

“It’s exciting to be in the home stretch on a game I’ve been wanting to get to for the last two decades. The feedback from our backers on the early beta has been great and I’m proud of the way Wasteland 2 is shaping up. The scope of the game is immense with a word count that is greater than The Lord of the Rings novels and a solid 50 hour+ game experience that has diversity from beginning to end. My goal has been to over deliver on our backer’s expectations for Wasteland 2,” said Brian Fargo of inXile Entertainment.

Wasteland 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Wasteland and the post-apocalyptic predecessor to the Fallout series. It offers an alternative history in which America lays lifeless in the hot ashes and radioactive embers of a deadly nuclear holocast. In the game, you command an elite squad of desert Rangers who set out to try and help the last remaining survivors against hordes of bandits, criminals, and decaying mutants.
