[Watch] Adult Swim shows off DESYNC, a colorful shooter that rewards creativity of movement

It's like an FPS and Tron had a baby....

Adult Swim continues to grow their catalog of increasingly impressive games. In the wake of the successful Headlander and Rise & Shine releases, Adult Swim has turned their attention to DESYNC, a colorful shooter that echoes shades of 90's style gameplay where momentum and skill outweighed climactic narrative and visual moments.

DESYNC is all about taking risks and performing combos to maximize that game's arcade-style score counter. Players have to effectively find ways to swap between their primary explosive digital guns and their side arms to keep the bullets/lasers flying while staying on target to rack up more points. As you do this, you can unlock something called Attack Sequences, which are special moves that can deal bonus damage as well as special effects.

The environment also serves to help the player rack up points, as firing a shotgun blast into an enemy can send them hurtling backward into a spike trap, which then launches them into the air, making them even more vulnerable to more attacks. Suffice it to say; you should expect lots of shooting, lots of digital explosions, and a barely cohesive narrative if there even is one.
