[Watch] Blade Runner 2049’s first teaser builds the hype

The first teaser for the Blade Runner sequel has been released and it has a whole lot of awesome in it. The trailer doesn't show off much of the story, but it does show us some amazing shots – mostly of Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford and a sandy city.

Official film synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

There's no hint of the scene where Ford accidentally punched Gosling in the face during filming, but it looks pretty interesting so far. Director Denis Villeneuve has deep respect for the original for and has made some great films already – including Prisoners, Sicario, and more recently, Arrival. There's plenty of hope for the sequel – Check the trailer out below!

Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Jared Leto, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas, and Robin Wright.

Blade Runner 2049 is set to release on October 6, 2017.
