[Watch] Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s zombie mode gets new story trailer

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 looks to be the most ambitious title in the series in quite some time. It’s replacing single-player with a battle royale mode, shaking up some of the core elements of Call of Duty multiplayer, and going all-in on zombies in ways we’ve never seen before.

For the first time ever, the new Call of Duty game will launch with not one, not two, but three zombies maps. After her father goes missing, Scarlett Rhodes joins up with three other heroes on a mystical journey to find her father and battle the undead and other supernatural forces.

The band of heroes will find themselves seeking an artifact on the Titanic as it fills with hordes of zombies and hits the iceberg that sunk the “unsinkable ship”. Eventually, they gain the ability to travel back in time to the ages of the Roman empire. They become the gladiators in an arena which is seemingly filled with members of a cult who send beasts like zombie tigers, incredibly large armored men, and more.

You can get a taste of the story in this new trailer below.

With all of this, you’ll gain map specific weapons, gear, and more. It looks as if it’ll be one of the craziest maps Treyarch has made to date but there’s one more fan-favorite map being brought back. Treyarch is remaking ‘Mob of the Dead’, the famous Black Ops 2 map set on Alcatraz, which will see the original Zombies crew returning in the map they’re dubbing ‘Blood of the Dead’.

Treyarch will also have one other map available for season pass holders at launch. The map known as ‘Classified’ is a reimagining of the Black Ops map, ‘Five’, which was set in the Pentagon and had you playing as famous political figures from the 60s and 70s like Nixon and John F. Kennedy. Details are scarce on both of these but they’ll likely be more than just simple remastered versions of these maps knowing how serious the Zombies team is about this mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will release on October 12th, 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can gain access to two betas in August (multiplayer) and September (Blackout) if you pre-order now, you can click here for all the details regarding the betas.
