Back in October, Mobile Masters Las Vegas brought professional gamers from across the world to compete in some of the most popular mobile titles for a share of a $70,000 prize pool.
We spoke with Head of eSports for Amazon, Benjamin Gauthey, in October at Mobile Masters Las Vegas. At this event, the top teams for Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, World of Tanks: Blitz and VainGlory came together to determine who would take home the honor of being the best in the world for their respective games. In the interview, we discuss the rise of eSports, mobile gaming’s role in eSports, and how these tournaments bring players from different backgrounds and different cultures.
This upcoming weekend, beginning tomorrow, in New York City is the Amazon Champions of Fire eSports tournament which features popular mobile games like Pac-Man 256 and Crossy Road and has popular gamers like Naomi Kyle and Sky Williams duking it out.
Attending the event is free and open to everyone! You can get the details on attending the event here. The Champions of Fire event begins at 10 AM ET on Sunday, December 2nd and ends at 8PM ET the following day and will be held at Time Inc in NYC.
