Spoilers for Logan will be featured in this article.
Logan is one of the most well-told superhero movies ever made and it features a ton of surprises both in the movie's story and in the performances themselves. Going into the movie, we knew Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart would deliver performances that would go down in history as most of their career has been building up to this movie. There was one actor many were unsure of, though. Dafne Keen is a very young actress who has never been in a movie before and she had to carry some of the emotional weight of this movie while also being a complete badass. On top of that, she's dead silent for probably over 75% of the movie. That's a tough task for an 11 year-old with little experience.
Of course, the audition process for a role like this was pretty crucial. They had to find a Spanish speaking kid who can deliver a variety of emotions and also hold her own physically and verbally against adults including Hugh Jackman's own Wolverine.
Next week, people will be able to view her improvised audition tape with Hugh Jackman on the Blu-Ray but you can see a clip of it below. The scene is shortly after Professor X has died and Logan and X-23 are pretty lost and trying to figure out what they should do next. X-23 then aggressively tries to convince Logan to take her to a place called Eden which is potentially the last chance for young mutants. Check out her amazing audition below.
Logan is out now on digital platforms and will release on Blu-Ray on May 23rd. The home video release will include a variety of special features and an alternate version of the movie which allows you to view it in black and white, similar to an old western.
