Earlier today, we reported on leaked images of Darksiders 3. As it turns out, the announcement was scheduled for today and is now official.
THQ and Gunfire Games have announced Darksiders 3, and it's currently in development and scheduled for release in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
As mentioned in our previous report, the game revolves around the character Fury. What's new however, is the fact that it takes place at the same time as Darksiders 2. It follows Fury's quest to destroy the physical manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Gunfire Games' development team includes many of the former Vigil Games' employees, who worked on Darksiders 1 and 2. This includes the Game Director, Executive Producer, Technical Director and Lead Environment Artist and more.
Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO at THQ Nordic AB said, “After countless rumors, a major catalog acquisition, and even a corporate re-brand, the team at THQ Nordic is thrilled to finally confirm plans for Darksiders III.”
No mention of a specific release date other than 2018 has been mentioned.
