Watch developer Rebellion play their new Co-Op adventure action shooter Strange Brigade

Rebellion has released a new video about their upcoming Co-Op action game Strange Brigade. The developers showcased their game during E3 last week actually, but amidst the flood of AAA games announcements and news, this smaller caliber game got criminally overlooked. Check it out!

Strange Brigade was announced last year to little fanfare. Likely overshadowed by media and press focusing a lot more on bigger games by bigger publishers, as usual. A real shame really, since the pedigree behind the project is very promising. The developer Rebellion is one of the older studios that managed to stay active and successful through many console generations, trends and fads by creating some action game classics like Alien vs. Predator, Delta Force Black Hawk Down and many more. The team struck gold in recent years with World War II sniping shooter Sniper Elite.

After Sniper Elite’s continued success, Rebellion even put out a spin-off series with the Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army duology. A Co-Op focused spin in the proven franchise. It seems, Rebellion sensed they could do much more with a Co-Op game, without the baggage of an existing series. Strange Brigade is the result of years of experience in creating satisfying and fun shooters and the lessons learned from creating an experience tailored to be best enjoyed with multiple friends.

By creating a new IP, Rebellion is also able to incorporate fresh ideas and mechanics into their newest game. While still being a true action shooter, Strange Brigade also features magical powers, a loot system, environmental puzzles which should help offer a varied experience. With various ways to master the maps, weapons to unlock and puzzles to solve, Strange Brigade tries to entice players to replay the game repeatedly but not get tired or bored.

The artistic style of an adventurous 50s theme and a great sense of humor definitely helps set Strange Brigade apart from the multitude of Co-Op games. We are looking forward to when Strange Brigade comes out on August 28th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
