Watch Dogs, the 2014 open-world, near-future adventure from Ubisoft is now being given away for free on PC for a whole week on uPlay.
Ubisoft revealed this news on Twitter, stating that all that had to be done was to sign up for uPlay service anytime from today until November 13. Make sure to follow this link to qualify! After claiming the game, it will be yours forever, so this isn't just a free taste.
Watch Dogs had a bit of a controversy behind it regarding the final product's visuals. The E3 footage of the game looked substantially better than the finished product, which turned a lot of people away. Not to mention, the game took more of an action-adventure approach than the first E3 trailer implied, which was heavy on info gathering and hacking.
Fortunately, the game that launched, once detached from the controversies, was actually a pretty good game. Unfortunately, not as many people gave it a try asĀ Ubisoft had hoped. But enough people played it to warrant a sequel, which received much higher praise than the first game.
If you haven't given the Watch Dogs franchise a try, the first chapter is literally free to play as long as you snag it in the next few days. Maybe it's time to finally give it a go?
