An Ubisoft representative has confirmed the validity of a new Uplay listing regarding the Wii U version of Watch Dogs, leaving the game with a somewhat vague release date of fall 2014.
Ubisoft’s interest in the Wii U is a valuable asset for Nintendo given the system’s dwindling third-party support. The developer made the decision to take once-Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends multi-plat given its small demographic, but apparently still considers the platform valuable. In the case of Watch Dogs in particular, that value is the unique functions and mechanics made possible by the Wii U’s gamepad.
Watch Dogs will release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC May 27.
