Watch Dogs prank gives common people extraordinary hacking abilities

In Watch Dogs, you'll have complete control over the city of Chicago using Aiden Pearce's smartphone. You'll be able to monitor and hack Pearce's enemies by manipulating everything connected to the city's Central Operating System (ctOS).

But what would happen if that power — this technology — could be recreated in real life? That's exactly what Ubisoft's new Watch Dogs "Amazing Street Hack" video looks at.

In the new video, common people are turned into powerful hackers after they are pranked into thinking their smartphone gets an app that allows them to hack a street of Los Angeles. I have a sneaking suspicion that these victims are actually in on the prank, but it's funny either way.

Watch Dogs will be available on May 27 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC.
