[Watch] DontNod’s Vampyr examines the darkness within

How do you kill and still do no harm?

DontNod's Vampyr RPG will release next year featuring a London society that is highly aware of the odd occurrences within the city. A new trailer was released today showing just how the citizens react to killing, and how it affects the environment within the game.

In Vampyr, every citizen killed will affect London's safety. From shop closures to missing kin, the act of killing is unavoidable, but who you kill, and how, is in your hands. Every civilian can be killed, or saved – but as hordes of vampire hunters prowl the streets, growing strong on the blood of the weak will be ever more tempting.

The ironic part of Vampyr is that we play a doctor by the name of Jonathan Reid. Set in 1918 London, Reid returns home from serving in World War I to realize he is plagued with vamprism. As a doctor, he has pledged to do no harm, but as a vampire he must kill to survive. Controlling Reid's every movement we must decide what is "the greater good" and how we will survive by doing the least amount of harm possible.

Vampyr will also feature a crafting system that will vary based on how you decide to progress within the game. No release date is available yet, but Vampyr will release on both Xbox One and PS4 as well as PC in 2017
