[Watch] Fantasy RPG, The Dwarves reveals 2nd of 15 playable characters in new trailer

Last week, we were introduced to Boindil Twoblade, the dual-axe wielding battle master known for his loyalty. This week, The Dwarves gives us a bit of a 180 with Rodario, who is just about the least Dwarf-like dwarf I've ever seen. When you usually think about dwarves, you think long flowing beards, heavy weapons, and high defense.

Rodario is none of those things.

Rodario on his own is not particularly strong, but fortunately, he does come with an array of talents and abilities that help him gain an alternative advantage. The goal when playing as Rodario is to keep enemies off of him since he has little defense, and he comes with several damage and/or status-dealing abilities to accomplish this.

They are as follows:

• Flamethrower deals fire damage in a large arc, causing foes to scatter
• Acid Cloud – gas cloud that causes progressive damage (poison)
• Cloud of Sleep – gas cloud that causes your enemies to fall asleep

What makes Rodario unique are his alternative abilities that channel his theatrical characters. They are as follows:

• Actor – Rodario pretends to be dead to make his enemies leave him alone
• Persuade – gets weak-minded enemies to fight for him
• Copycat – Rodario releases a cloud of smoke and transforms into an enemy

As you can see, there are a number of strategies players can employ when playing as Rodario, making him one of the most versatile characters in the game. Next week, The Dwarves will return with another character featurette showcasing Narmora, an agile fighter and experienced lock-picker.
