Stephen King's Dark Tower film adaptation has finally been hit with a trailer and it's looking pretty good. The film, based on the novel series by Stephen King, follows to story of Gunslinger Roland Deschain who is on a quest to find the Dark Tower, a building that links all the worlds that exist together.
The film is taking the Dark Tower novels and mashing them together and adding it's own twist, so it appears to be, more-or-less, inspired by the Stephen King novels instead of a direct adaptation.
Either way, check it out below:
The Dark Tower is being directed by Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair) and stars Idris Elba (Luther) as Roland Deschain, Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar) as the Man in Black, Tom Taylor (Doctor Foster) as Jake Chambers, Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) as Tirana, Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods) as Pimli, Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as Richard Sayre, Michael Barbieri (Little Men) as Timmy, Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as Arra Champignon and Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
It is set to release August 4th.
