You know that expression where developers and publishers talk about handcrafting every nook and cranny of their game world with the ultimate care and detail? Here's a little video to show you the caveat that what only matters is what the player is meant to see. YouTuber Caelum Rabanastre XII/XV recently uploaded a video (seen above) showcasing what the "open world" around the Niflheim Empire looks like. In short, it's not much.
There's no enemies roaming the land, no flora or fauna, no significant geometry, and is pretty much just a bunch of flat land. The player was never meant to explore this space, so it's no surprise that there's nothing here.
As is the case with a lot of games, players have been tinkering with the limits of Final Fantasy XV since the game came out at the end of November, as another player managed to beat the game without ever leveling up. The game was recently updated to Patch 1.03 and brought with it a New Game Plus mode as well as a number of bug fixes. It seems this glitch wasn't in the works for a fix, but you can probably expect this to be patched at some point.
