WATCH: Gears of War 4 campaign launch trailer is full of nostalgia and machismo

Gears of War 4, the third of the Xbox Play Anywhere titles (ReCore, Forza Horizon 3) finally got its campaign launch trailer today and it's beautiful.

In it, we see a great combination of nostalgia and machismo while Marcus teams up with his family in order to take down the Swarm, their new enemy. 25 years ago, Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad made Sera safe for tomorrow’s generation. His son JD has lived with that peace, until now. A new threat called the Swarm has emerged and now JD, along with his friends Del and Kait, must fight together and survive the night.

On top of a great cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, we get a look at the new armor, enemies and more prior to its release on October 11th. Remember, the Gears of War 4 season pass was just recently updated, and now includes 85 boosts for both multiplayer and campaign. Those who pre-order the game will also receive some cool pre-order skins, including zombie Dom.
