If you've kept up with the Game of Thrones series, you're probably familiar with the theme song that plays at the opening of every episode. That song, as well scores in Pacific Rim, Iron Man and Warcraft were all made by the same man, composer Ramin Djawadi.
Now, Djawadi is taking on Gears of War 4. With Djawadi having handcrafted the music that has brought us through death, reconciliation, robot fights and huge battles, it's safe to say that Gears is in good hands.
"Obviously, I wanted to make it very different from Game of Thrones," said Djawadi to the Associated Press. "Whenever I approach a new project, I want to make sure I'm setting up a new sound – even through we're still using a lot of orchestra and percussion."
Apparently, Gears will have some emotional scenes to look forward to… Hopefully that doesn't mean Marcus Fenix is going to die and leave us with his son. "There are some really nice scenes that are probably unexpected for Gears, where we're really pushing the emotional undertones with strings," he said.
The must won't be entirely different, though. Djawadi will stay true to the original series as best he can. "I certainly wanted to stay in the direction fans know, but at the same time, I wanted to bring my own style to it," said Djawadi. "I wanted to stay in that world."
As long as the theme song gets stuck in my head like the Game of Thrones one.
