Somewhat out of the blue, a new Ghostbusters game has launched on the PlayStation 4's PSVR. It's called Ghostbusters: Now Hiring. As the title implies, players take control of a new Ghostbuster hired onto the team.
This title is actually an episodic release, similar to TellTale's The Walking Dead and the latest Hitman. The first episode is titled 'Firehouse'. Jake Zim, senior vice president of VR at Sony Pictures (who produced 2016's Ghostbusters) told io9 that they plan to "put out Chapter 1, [see] if people like it and see what they want, then we can add Chapter 2 and keep going."
The trailer below gives a look at the gameplay and story of the first chapter:
Interestingly enough, Ivan Reitman, one of the co-creators of Ghostbusters and director of the 1984 film was very much involved in the game's creation. One of his biggest suggestions was the Ghostbusters Icon Ghost being the player's guide through the episode, who is actually voiced by Patton Oswalt.
Ghostbusters: Now Hiring – Firehouse is now available on the PlayStation Store in the US for $7. No information is available on the UK and Australian market as of yet.
