After getting a pre-teaser earlier this week following a series of them over the last several months, Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for Scarlett Johansson's Ghost in the Shell in the wake of the special event screening over in Tokyo. As you can see, the film has a very stylish and over-the-top sense of action and will adhere closely to the anime.
The movie will focus on the Kuze storyline, rather than focus entirely on an origin story, who you can see in the trailer above played by Michael Pitt. It will also pull in details from a variety of other storylines in the series including the Geisha bot from Ghost in the Shell: Innocence.
Ghost in the Shell will hit theaters on March 31st, 2017, and stars Scarlett Johansson as The Major, as well as Pilou Asbæk, Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, Kaori Momoi, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo.
