The first trailer for the Jumanji remake dropped in June and with the release date fast approaching, Sony Pictures has decided to regale us with the second trailer. The Jumanji remake ditches the classic board game for a more timely item, a classic video game console and sees the teen cast ported into the game. That's when Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan take over the role of the teens as their in-game characters.
Official film description:
In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…
This new Jumanji film will honor Robin Williams "in an earnest and cool way", according to one of the films' stars, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. After originally being due to release around Christmas 2016, the film's release date was officially pushed back to July 28th, 2017 and is now set to release on December 20th.
