HBO has been teasing Westworld's debut since last summer with short, but weird trailers. The show, which is set to premiere on October 2nd, adapts Michael Crichton's 1973 film also titled Westworld. Basically, the show is Jurassic Park with androids instead of dinosaurs, which makes sense… considering Crichton wrote Jurassic Park.
Westworld is a futuristic theme park called 'Westworld' that is filled with androids who were created to fulfill the desires of park attendees, which are human. Of course, there wouldn't be a show without something going wrong and that's probably androids becoming self-aware.
Westworld stars Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Miranda Otto, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan and Simon Quarterman.
