[Watch] Metal Gear Survival Xbox One, PS4 beta announced; Single-player gameplay shown off

Konami will be hosting a beta for Metal Gear Survive for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players next month, starting on January 18th and lasting until January 21st. If you want to participate in the beta, you'll need to have a PSN or Xbox Live subscription.

In addition to this, Konami has released a video (above) showing off the game's single-player with commentary from Yuji Korekado, the game's producer.

According to Korekado, the game is based on Metal Gear Solid V's 'action-based' gameplay with strong survival elements.

Konami's first post-Kojima Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Survive, was first revealed back in 2016 during Gamescom. The game is an always online co-op zombie survival game that takes place after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the precursor to The Phantom Pain, and sends survivors of the wrecked Mother Base through a wormhole to an alternate dimension.

Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima, has 'nothing to do with' Metal Gear Survive.
