Yesterday, Back to the Future fans celebrated the future becoming the present (and now the past) as October 21, 2015 — the day Marty McFly and Doc travel to the future in Back to the Future: Part II — finally became a reality. From Pepsi Perfect to a playable DeLorean in Rocket League, fans and companies alike found ways to celebrate the joyous occasion. While not all of the films predictions became a reality (like the Chicago Cubs as World Series champs), Nike is working to make at least one dream happen.
The future in the film may be in our past, but as Doc Brown said in a special message yesterday, "Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one." To that end, Nike sent Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly) a pair of Nike MAG — sneakers with actual self-tying "power laces."
Fox's Parkinson's research foundation shared an image of the actor with his new pair of shoes. They're legit.

In addition to the actual shoes, Nike MAG designer Tinker Hatfield actually sent Fox a handwritten note complete with a sketch of McFly holding a pair of Nike MAGs.

Fox also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to show off his fresh new kicks. You can get a better look at the self-lacing action in the video below.
The best part about all of this is the 2015 Nike Mag will actually get a limited edition release. From what it sounds like, it will only be available via auction with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
