[Watch] Middle Earth: Shadow of War gets 16-minutes of gameplay and it is glorious

Are you not entertained?

Exactly one week after Warner Bros. revealed the follow-up to Middle-earth: Shadow or Mordor, they teased that there would be plenty of gameplay to look at this week. Fortunately, Warner Bros. made good on their tease and have supplied us with a 16-minute long gameplay walkthrough video for Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

The gameplay trailer takes a closer look at how the Nemesis System has been expanded to "new heights" with Followers and Fortresses in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. It offers further details on how followers add new stories of loyalty and revenge to the game and Fortresses will allow players to utilize different strategies to conquer strongholds and create personalized worlds.

It also explores the New Ring to forge an army, regions to be conquered, what happens when you conquer them, and much, much more. Basically, this gameplay walkthrough shows off how you'll be saving Middle-earth and leading the most badass army ever.

Note: The gameplay video is using Alpha gameplay.

Towards the end of the gameplay walkthrough, we get a look at the pre-order bonuses of four legendary orc champions and the Epic Sword of Dominion.

What is interesting here is that the gameplay video starts off with the Xbox logo, closes out with XBox games, and is being played on an Xbox console (look at the buttons) in a video on the WBGamesUK YouTube channel. PlayStation has their own version of the video, but it does not open with a PlayStation logo. However, it does feature PS4 controls and box art.

If the Warner Bros. official channel is using the Xbox version, that means there's definitely some specific marketing (or Warner Bros messed up) for.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will launch on all Xbox platforms,  Xbox One and Windows 10 via Xbox Play Anywhere and Project Scorpio, as well as PC, PS4 and will be PS4 Pro friendly.

The release date is set for August 22nd.
