NBC has released a new promo trailer for their upcoming superhero office comedy, 'Powerless'.
One of the highly anticipated new superhero shows scheduled for 2017 is NBC's Powerless. The series follows an insurance agency in the DC Comics universe that helps the community protect itself and recover from the collateral damage caused by heated super powered battles in the city. The latest trailer features the employees of Wayne Security (hint, hint) witnessing an epic fight between classic DC heroine, Crimson Fox, and the flame firing Jack O'Lantern.
The boldness of having the series take place in a pre-existing comic book universe as opposed to just making up a new world with its own lore is noteworthy, especially considering the tone of the show is expected to be pretty light-hearted as a comedy. Its likely there'll only be subtle references to the big names in this universe; Batman, Superman, and the like, filling the space with a few more obscure characters like the french acrobat, Crimson Fox. What will this mean for the landscape of the DC universe considering there are now FOUR total versions of it between NBC, The CW (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow), FOX (Gotham), and the DCEU? Maybe we'll get a new perspective when 'Powerless' premieres next month.
The show stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Danny Pudi, and Christina Kirk.
Powerless premieres on NBC February 2nd!
