Outside of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there may not be a more sought after game for Nintendo Switch owners than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The new and improved version of the Wii U game brings a much-needed revamped Battle Mode to the game and the folks over at GameXplain have released some footage of the mode in action.
Here's their video:
What's interesting about this particular mode, called Renegade Roundup, is that players have to break their teammates out of prison each time they are knocked out. It's more or less Cops and Robbers in Mario Kart form.
It's also being reported that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will last about three hours with the Switch in handheld mode, which seems to be the standard for most games, including the previously mentioned Breath of the Wild. It also looks like prospective Switch buyers in Russia will soon have the option to purchase a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle. There are currently no plans to bring the bundle to any other country, but it doesn't seem rational to keep such a bundle exclusive to one area of the world. That one smells like a wait and see, and it will come.
