Earlier this month, BioWare kicked off their gameplay series for Mass Effect: Andromeda. The initial gameplay video detailed combat and skills. Today's video focuses on the profile choices players have, the skills that come along with them, and how these skills and profiles can be used during gameplay!
Check out every in the video below or get a bit of a breakdown in the text below it.
Andromeda will allow players to customize their character with a set of profiles, these profiles are Soldier, Engineer, Sentinel, Vanguard, Infiltrator, Adept and Explorer. The video above details two: Adept and Explorer.
Adept
Adepts are biotic specialists, capable of disabling and killing enemies with powerful mass effect fields.
This profile reconfigures Ryder's biotic implant, enabling her to defeat her opponents without firing a single shot.
Explorer
The Explorer is a jack-of-all-trades, with abilities ranging from combat to tech to biotics.
This profile reconfigures Ryder's mind and body to be as versatile as possible, permitting him to switch rapidly between firing weapons, deploying technology and wielding biotic powers.
Each profile choice will give you a set of points to invest in various skills (each skill maces out at six). Additionally, profile choices will give players a set of bonuses. The more points invested skills offer better bonuses.
You can swap profiles at any time. To help with swapping profiles in combat, Mass Effect: Andromeda features a 'Favorites' skill wheel, like Dragon Age's quickplay skill wheel, that allows players to bind three favorite skills and one profile to the wheel.
In the gameplay video, you also get a taste of what your teammates skills and profiles look like.
