Sadly, Star Wars: Rebels is gearing up for its final season which premieres in October. But unlike its predecessor The Clone Wars, Rebels is going out on its own terms, and if the show's latest trailer is any indication, it looks like Rogue One is going to play a role in the story.
Check it out:
Rebels is no stranger to using established characters in its storyline, as Ashoka Tano, Darth Vader, Lando Calrissian, and Grand Admiral Thrawn have all appeared in some role or another. This season looks to leverage Saw Guerrera as the new Guest Party member, who fittingly was initially introduced in The Clone Wars series before meeting his end in Rogue One. There are also name drops of Orson Krennic and Stardust (the code name for The Death Star) as well as a look at the Death Troopers from the movie.
It's also worth noting that Rebels' main vessel, The Ghost makes several cameos in Rogue One, including the Final Battle scene, so it only makes sense that Disney would connect the show with the movie.
Star Wars: Rebels Season 4 premieres on October 16th, 2017.
