The Nintendo Switch is set to release in two days and Nintendo is saving a majority of details on the console until right before it launches. Even though reviews have begun to drop for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo hasn't made online features for the Switch accessible to reviewers… But they have released a new video detailing some of the Switch's online features.
The latest short video from Nintendo is offering up a brief overview of two icons that users will find on the home screen: News and eShop.
News
Featured articles from Nintendo will appear on the left side of the screen when you start the Nintendo Switch or wake it from the sleep mode. A 'News' icon will also appear as an icon on the Switch's home screen.
The Switch's newsfeed will feature game trailers, game news, "behind-the-scenes info," sales, promotions, and more.
eShop
The Nintendo Switch's eShop will be accessible via an icon on the Switch's home screen (next to the news icon) or through a featured promotion/sale in the News tab. In the eShop you can search for content by name or filters, purchase games, download content, and more.
