Fox Searchlight has released the first official red band teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel, ‘Super Troopers 2’.
One of the most definitive comedies of this generation has to be Broken Lizard’s Super Troopers. After several hilarious installments from the writing team such as ‘Slammin’ Salmon’ and ‘Beerfest’, a sequel was in the air, but had never gotten any traction. After a highly successful crowdsource funding campaign, the movie finally went into production. With a release date officially set for April 2018 (4/20 to be exact), the studio has finally released the first red band teaser trailer. Check it out here [NSFW]:
It seems the premise will follow a more topical path as our boys in beige will be called upon to maintain order at the border…or at least one of the borders. The premise reads as follows:
When the United States and Canada get into a dispute about the location of the actual border, the Super Troopers – Mac, Thorny, Foster, Rabbit and Farva – are called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the contested area. Our heroes quickly revert to their own brand of unconventional police work.
The original cast is set to return, including Jim Gaffigan, the victim of the infamous “meow” prank. In addition to the returning favorites, Rob Lowe (‘Park and Rec’), Tyler Labine (‘Reaper’), and Will Sasso (Mad TV) are set to appear in the film.
Super Troopers 2 releases April 20, 2018!
