PlayStation Experience 2016 was stocked full of trailers. We've seen everything from The Last of Us Part II to Crash Bandicoot Remastered. Seemingly lost in the shuffle of all this win, was a rather swanky new Persona 5 trailer (embedded above). The hype train for Persona 5 has taken a small detour since it was delayed again last month, but this new trailer shows that you have everything to be excited about when it comes to Atlus' next entry in the series.
The trailer and the video description on its YouTube page give us some added insight into the set-up of the game's plot. Once again, we are taking on the role of a transfer student starting a brand new life in a new high school. Eventually, he learns that he has the power to enter people's hearts and "force them to confront their true selves."
I smell a scene late in the game with a line involving something to the effect of, "but you can't confront yourself!" Given that the protagonist appears to be running from something, I'd say it's a safe bet that they will have to confront that by game's end.
Persona 5 releases on April 4th, 2017.
